Responsibilities

  • Submit a proposal for your SGAC Event in the period stated below. The Events Coordination Team will review, evaluate and eventually approve your proposal to organise the event on behalf of SGAC according to the below timeline.
  • Comply with SGAC Events Guidelines and ways of working (provided by the Events Coordination Team)
  • Ensure regular communications on the status of the event with the Events Coordination Team
  • Ensure financial returns for your events and regular budget updates (support from the SGAC Finance Team)
  • Ensure a good deployment of SGAC in the local area of the event (recruiting new members, reaching out to local sponsors and partners)
  • Report the outcomes and results after the event

Note: Events are no longer accepted on a first-come, first-served basis but in specific periods of the year and evaluated taking into consideration geographical distribution, timeline, value of the event for the country and SGAC, and budget.

The call for applications for the SGAC Local Events happening in January – March 2027 will open on the 15th of April 2026!

15 April – 15 May: Submit your SGAC Local Event proposal (Event happening between January – March 2027)
15 May – 15 June: Review and selection of events from the SGAC Local Events Coordination Team
End of June: Announcement of SGAC Local Events happening in January – March 2027

* For the safety of delegates, the Organising Team, sponsors, partners, speakers, and all other participants, local events must be hosted in countries classified as Travel Advice Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3, under international travel safety frameworks. Countries classified as Travel Advice Level 4 are encouraged to consider organising online activities, such as webinars, instead.
