Responsibilities

  • Submit a bid for your SGAC Regional Event – the Events Coordination Team, the Regional Coordinators and previous [Region] SGW Manager have to review and approve your bid for you to organise the event on behalf of SGAC
  • Comply with SGAC Events Guidelines and ways of working (provided by the Events Coordination Team)
  • Ensure regular communications on the status of the event with the Events Coordination Team
  • Ensure financial returns for you events and regular budget update (support from the SGAC Finance Team)
  • Ensure a good deployment of SGAC in the region of the event (recruiting new members, reaching out to local sponsors and partners)
  • Report the outcomes and results after the event

* For the safety of delegates, the Organising Team, sponsors, partners, speakers, and all other participants, regional and international events must be hosted in countries classified as Travel Advice Level 1 or Level 2 under international travel advise safety frameworks. Countries classified as Travel Advice Level 3 are encouraged to consider organising SGAC Local Events, which can be planned with a more localized scope and appropriate risk mitigation measures. Countries classified as Travel Advice Level 4 are encouraged to consider organising online activities, such as webinars, instead.

These guidelines are intended to support responsible event planning and ensure that SGAC activities can continue to grow sustainably while prioritising the safety and well-being of everyone involved.
