On Friday, 16 June 2023

Visit of Archenhold Observatory

On the day prior to the SG[Germany] 2023, we have arranged a guided tour in one of Berlin’s oldest observatories, the Archenhold Observatory. This historic observatory houses the world’s longest pointable telescope. Expert guides will offer us a captivating glimpse into the wonders of astronomy while guiding us through the observatory and museum. 

Note: This activity is free for delegates of SG[Germany], however capacity is limited. Registration will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. You will be sent a link to register after purchasing your ticket for SG[Germany].

Optional Pre-Event Dinner and Drinks

Following the visit to the Archenhold Observatory, we are delighted to extend the programme to an optional dinner and drinks gathering. Nestled in the heart of Berlin, a charming venue awaits to host this exclusive gathering of SG[Germany] 2023 participants. With its inviting ambiance and varied dinner menu, it sets the perfect backdrop for participants to unwind at the end of the day and engage in conversations with the event participants. 

Note: The dinner is not part of the official event programme. It is optional and at your own expense. The event location will be shared after purchasing your ticket for SG[Germany] with the option to indicate your interest to join.

SG[Germany] Closing Dinner

After the official SG[Germany] 2023 programme, we have planned an informal dinner so we can all end the day together. For the Closing Dinner we have arranged for a venue with a special view of the Spree and the Federal Chancellery. The large terrace is part of a beer-garden and can accommodate all event participants, inviting you to linger and continue the discussions of the day. 

Note: The dinner is not part of the official event programme. It is optional and at your own expense. The event location will be shared after purchasing your ticket for SG[Germany] with the option to indicate your interest to join.

 

Long Night of Science – Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften (LNDW)

The Long Night of Science will take place on Saturday from 5 to midnight. Around 60 scientific and science-related institutions present over 1400 program elements. All interested in science will get exclusive insights behind the scenes and spectacular experiments, exciting lectures, science shows and laboratory tours. exciting lectures, science shows and laboratory tours. For anyone interested in joining LNDW after the Closing Dinner, from 22:00 onwards there is a Late-Night-Ticket available for 6€.

Berlin City Tour

Walkative offers free walking tours of Berlin. In case you are not familiar with the concept, free waking tours are guided tours on a “pay what you wish”-basis. Walkative has different tours on offer. On Sunday morning they offer Welcome to Berlin (starts at 10:00) and Alternative Berlin (starts at 10:30).
