The International University of Rabat, or UIR in short, is a semi-public Moroccan university founded in 2010. For the second year in a row, it stands out at the top of the international ranking THE, “Times Higher Education Impact Ranking 2022”. The International University of Rabat is the holder of the 1st rank in Africa and Arab countries, which makes it particularly advanced in the ranking of Decent work and economic growth “SDG#8”, Clean energy and SDG “SDG#7”, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions “SDG16”, and finally Partnerships for the goals ”SDG17”.
The International University of Rabat is known for hosting three editions of the ActInSpace Morocco, 2016, 2018, and 2021. UIR is one of the leading universities in women empowerment to pursue science, it shows in the collaboration with the US embassy for a conference on educational opportunities for women in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), which resulted in the donation of a NASA rover Lego model by the US embassy to the university to highlight the key role played by NASA’s Moroccan scientist Kamal Oudrhiri in the development of the Curiosity Mars Rover and other Mars exploration program.
