Kimberley Merlet
People and Data Insights (PDI) Coordinator

Kimberley’s path has been shaped at the intersection of multiple disciplines. She initially studied philosophy, driven by a desire to explore the societal impacts of disruptive technologies, particularly algorithmic systems; focusing on how they transform social interactions, reshape governance models, and redefine power dynamics. Convinced that the space sector is both a major driver of technological advancement and a strategic lever to address global challenges, she chose to specialize in this field through an Advanced Master’s in Space Defense and Security. There, she developed a strong understanding of the space ecosystem, with a particular interest in the dynamics emerging from the interaction between civil and military actors. As part of this program, she completed an internship in the Director General’s Office at the European Space Agency (ESA), where she contributed to strategic monitoring of space security issues within a rapidly evolving ecosystem. Actively engaged in the non-profit sector since her first Master’s degree, Kimberley contributed to the UNIVERSEH project, marking her first steps into the space ecosystem. She is now involved with Jeunes IHEDN, where she contributes to editorial production as a communications officer and is an active member of the Aeronautics and Space Committee. She also serves as the People and Data Insights (PDI) Coordinator at the level of Executive Council within the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC).
Amber Cher
People and Data Insights (PDI) Coordinator

Amber Cher is a multidisciplinary professional with experience in project coordination, change management, business strategy, sustainable development, and entrepreneurship across North America, Europe, and Asia. Her work has evolved from sustainability and policy into space governance, focusing on the intersection of technology, corporate practices, and international regulation. She holds an M.Sc. in Sustainable Development (First Class Honours) from University College Dublin. Her Master’s thesis examined gender, backlash politics, and inclusive governance in the U.S. commercial space sector, applying feminist frameworks and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to assess how policy and organisational practices shape equity. Amber has presented her research at the Gender and Sexuality Politics Conference 2025 and participated in international policy forums hosted by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, the European Space Policy Institute and Secure World Foundation. She is also a contributor to the forthcoming Cambridge Handbook on Women’s Rights. She recently co-designed and co-led a student dialogue for the event “Jeffrey Sachs: Education and Sustainable Futures,” where she presented on the intersection of space and sustainable development. Since joining the Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) in January 2025, Amber has actively participated in SGAC key initiatives including the 1st Benelux Space Startup Competition, E-SGW 2025, and SG[Nordic-Baltic]2026. She currently serves as the People and Data Insights (PDI) Coordinator at the level of Executive Council, supporting organisational development, and as a FIGURES Research Liaison within the Diversity and Gender Equality Project Group.
