SG[Nordic-Baltic] 2026 Organising Team
Our organising team spans all across the Nordic and Baltic region, and are so excited to create an memorable event for you!

Finnish, Helsinki-born Johannes is a recent SpaceMaster double degree graduate whose heart is in Central Finland’s forests, lakes, and nature. Johannes’ background is in electrical and electronics engineering in Aalto University.
Through happy coincidences, he ended up working in a small propulsion company in Aalto. From there, he went to Kiruna and later to Toulouse to finish his degree. In Toulouse, he also worked for Pangea Propulsion doing avionics development. Currently Johannes works at ICEYE as a Satellite Production Line Owner.

Alicia is a Finnish-Polish LL.B. (law) student at the University of Eastern Finland with a strong passion for space law and space technologies. She currently serves as President of the Finnish Space Law Association and has participated in the ESAxECSL and University of Amsterdam Space Law summer courses. As SGAC National Point of Contact for Finland (2026–2028), Alicia is eager to promote international collaboration and showcase the Finnish space industry on the global stage.

Benjamin is a Finnish, Helsinki-born, space enthusiast with a background in Electronics and Computer Science from Aalto University. Recently graduated from the international SpaceMaster programme, Benjamin has been living in icy cold Kiruna, Sweden, before finishing his MSc studies in Toulouse, France. Throughout his studies, Benjamin was actively involved in many societies and student life and gained experience in leadership, fundraising and organising large-scale events.
Benjamin is currently working as a project manager at Huld, namely on ground processing for the Sentinel-class instruments as part of the Copernicus programme. After the success of the 2025 event, Benjamin is excited for this next iteration and looks forward to meeting old and new acquaintances!

Marc Heemskerk is a Dutch-born geologist, explorer, pianist, and certified space nerd, who has been around Europe a bit, studying and living in a.o. Amsterdam, Strasbourg, Tromsø, and now Tallinn, Estonia. He is the co-founder of ICEE.Space, an ESA BIC-backed company in Prague, Czechia, which provides testbeds using Isolated Confined Extreme Environmental (ICEE) expeditions to simulate life in space (planetary field tests and analogue astronaut missions). Besides his CEO function, he is currently pursuing a PhD in Planetary Geochemistry and Material Sciences in Tallinn (TalTech), trying to make pyrite solar cell absorbers from lunar resources. He has been involved in the space sector from early 2018, and has attended several local SGAC events and co-organised multiple national and international events. He has co-published over 40 conference papers and peer-reviewed articles, is a public speaker, lecturer and enjoys diving, getting stuck in caves as well as hiking in his free time.

Matti is a researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), specializing in signal processing for laser communication. Prior to his work at DLR, he worked at OroraTech on satcom systems as an embedded software engineer.

Aapo is a software engineer currently working on satellite solutions for wildlife tracking at TALOS GmbH in Munich. Originally from Helsinki, Aapo spent the last two years living in arctic Kiruna and sunny Toulouse, pursuing a joint M.Sc. degree in space science & technology through the SpaceMaster program. Having been part of the organizing team for SG[Nordic-Baltic] 2025, Aapo is again looking forward to organizing and taking part in SG[Nordic-Baltic] 2026.

Paulina works as a Spaceport Engineer at SSC, all the way in the north of Sweden above the Arctic Circle. She is a Chemical Engineer by trade and space enthusiast at heart, combining her background and passion to develop space access capabilities. As SGAC National Point of Contact for Lithuania, Paulina wants to bring the Nordic-Baltic space community together to collaborate, exchange ideas and get inspired.

Bruno is a master’s student in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Stuttgart and an Erasmus exchange student at Aalto University in Espoo. Passionate about fostering international collaboration and connecting people in the space sector, he is part of the SG[Nordic-Baltic] 2026 Organising Team, where he is responsible for communication with delegates.
Although relatively new to SGAC, Bruno has a long history of volunteering – from serving as a paramedic with the German Red Cross to leading multiple university sports courses – experiences that strengthened his skills in organisation, coordination, and communication. Aswell as his time at the DLR School Lab Berlin, where he guided students through space and science experiments, further deepened his passion for education and outreach.
Having participated in SGAC events such as the first SG Germany and the European Space Generation Workshop in Toulouse, he is excited to help create an inspiring and inclusive atmosphere for all participants at SG[Nordic-Baltic] 2026.
Outside of his studies, Bruno loves taking on DIY projects (with more or less success) and is a travelling and sports enthusiast who enjoys exploring new places, meeting people from diverse cultures, and discovering new adventures – often with a backpack, a frisbee, and a big smile.
