After a successful first edition, SGAC is thrilled to announce the second edition of SG[Nordic-Baltic], a dedicated side event to be held alongside the Winter Satellite Workshop, 20-23 January 2026, the largest space event in Nordics and Baltics in taking place in Espoo, Finalnd.

We are not just looking at the stars, we are bringing them together. We are excited to gather young professionals and students aged from 18 to 35, regardless of profession or field, nationality or country, junior or senior, but people who are committed to shaping the future of the space industry. 

As we prepare for this landmark event, we are launching a Call for the SG[Nordic-Baltic] Organising Team! We are looking for:

 

Event Managers (2x)

The SG[Nordic-Baltic] Managers will work alongside in the preparation of the logistics, programming, communications and overall management of SG[Nordic-Baltic]. This role includes overseeing the development of the event, helping to coordinate the organising team, and proactively working towards delivering a successful event. 

The SG[Nordic-Baltic] Managers are responsible for the implementation of the SG[Nordic-Baltic] programme and carry the following tasks and expectations:

  • Co-leading the Organising Team in the planning and execution of the SG[Nordic-Baltic];
  • Liaising with Winter Satellite Workshop and SGAC’s Executive Director and Business Development Officer;
  • Managing timelines, budget, and resources to ensure successful event delivery;
  • Organise preparatory activities including program preparation, communications, scheduling, and contact with SGAC supporters, among others;
  • Coordinating with SGAC Treasurer, Finance Team, BDO and other stakeholders;
  • Engaging with delegates, speakers, and sponsors to ensure their participation;
  • Ensuring that SGAC’s guidelines and event standards are followed;
  • Delivering the event with a very active in-person presence for the entire week of the event.

The Managers will work closely with the SGAC Event Team, Finance Team, Treasurer and BDO.

Physical attendance to the event is mandatory for the role.
Estimated time commitment: 4-6 hours a week + days of the event onsite. The amount of time this role requires will increase as the event approaches.

 

Logistics and Local Organising Team (4x)

This team will manage the logistics aspects of the competition and address coordination with local partners and entities to ensure a successful SG[Nordic-Baltic] 2026.

This role includes:

  • Support Event Managers set up the detailed schedule and responsibilities during the event;
  • Support in elaboration of estimated budgets for different organisational phases of the event;
  • Support with audio/video logistics during the event;
  • Interact with local supporters and partners for involvement in the programme (seek local sponsors and delegates).
  • Assisting with the local venue organisation and cultural information/functions (dinners, visits, etc.) for the Delegate Handbook;
  • Support with delegate material procurement before the event and general logistics during the event;
  • Support in organisation of social events;
  • Support with potential accommodation options: 
  • Delivering the event with a very active in-person presence for the entire week of the event. 

Physical location in Cyprus is considered an asset for the role.
Estimated time commitment: 2-3 hours a week on average. The amount of time this role requires will increase as the event approaches.

 

Programme Team (2x)

The program team will be in charge of the creation and organisation of the workshop’s programme.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing and preparing the program and the topics for the event;
  • Selecting moderators, speakers and coordinating with them for invitations;
  • Coordinating a cloud-based collaboration among team members;
  • Writing related reports and documents;
  • Work closely with the Communications Team for the promotion of the event.

Estimated time commitment: 2-3 hours a week on average. The amount of time this role requires will increase as the event approaches.

 

Delegates Team (2x)

This team will support delegate related processes throughout the event including communications before and after the event.

Responsibilities:

  • Creating and distributing the SG[Nordic-Baltic] Delegate Handbook; 
  • Coordinating all contacts with delegates;
  • Being the point of contact for delegates on issues/questions;
  • Creating a delegates’ database.

Estimated time commitment: 2-3 hours a week on average. The amount of time this role requires will increase as the event approaches.

 

Media and Communications Team (2x)

This team will support public relations and advertising activities pertaining to the workshop, working closely with the SGAC PR & Comms Team, the Event Managers and Winter Satellite Workshop.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing press releases;
  • Coordinating media relations and advertising before, during and after the event;
  • Creating social media and newsletter campaigns to promote the event, before, during and after SG[Nordic-Baltic];
  • Coordinating social media communication with SGAC teams and Winter Satellite Workshop; 
  • Coordinating with the Organising Team and other organisations on promotion;
  • Developing brochures and potential sponsorship packages for the event.

Estimated time commitment: 2-3 hours a week on average. The amount of time this role requires will increase as the event approaches.

 

Finance & Partnerships Team (2x)

This responsible for creating the overall budget of the event and supporting the Communication, Sponsors, Delegates and Logistics teams in terms of financial management. You are keeping the budget of the event up to date, in close relationship with the Treasurer team of SGAC, the Event Managers and BDO. 

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing a detailed budget plan for the overall event together with the Event Managers
  • Ensure quotes validation and invoices submission to SGAC Treasurer and Finance Team
  • Regular meetings with SGAC treasurer & BDO
  • Regular meetings with the Communication, Sponsors, Delegates and Logistics teams, as well Event Managers
  • Attend virtual meetings and submit updates
  • Assist with other teams as required

Estimated time commitment: 3-5 hours a week on average with a constant workload through the event organisation.

 

Necessary Qualifications

  • SGAC membership: registration on the SGAC website and below 35 years of age.
  • Interest in the space sector.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, quick turnaround environment and meet deadlines without compromising the quality of work.
  • Good English skills with a keen eye for details.
  • Good teamwork skills and a high degree of self-organisation.
  • Cross cultural and communication awareness: ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with people from various international and cultural backgrounds.
