A Look into Space Entrepreneurship: From Establishing Business Planning Pillars to Scaling-up Strategies
When thinking about startups, it comes to mind a basement in the Silicon Valley, where a group of hard-working people managed to turn an idea into a successful business venture. Most of the time, though, people forget the ugly truth: that is, almost 90% of startups fail each year. Only a handful knows how to survive the odds of failing: indeed, the path ahead of entrepreneurs is risky and uncertain. The webinar will address the topics that are crucial in the process of building solid foundations for a startup. In particular, the main topics discussed will be: business planning, business scale-up, funding and exit strategies. To wrap up, we will discuss why entrepreneurial figures are rare to encounter in large corporations.

A Look into Space Entrepreneurship: Emerging Trends, Models and Lessons Learned
According to the Space Economy Strategic Plan – National positioning framework, Version 1.0, 2016 – the Space Economy is “the value chain that, starting from the research, development and manufacture of enabling space infrastructures, the so-called “Upstream”, goes up to the manufacture of “enabled” innovative products and services, the so-called “Downstream” (environmental monitoring and weather forecast services, etc.)”. Indeed, the space sector is one of the crucial asset to the growth of future entrepreneurship, economy and services, with particular focus to a newfound sustainability and technology transfer perspective. This webinar will draw attention to some of the current cutting-edge technologies proposed by emerging space SME and startups at both national and European level. In detail, some of the addressed topics will include: space debris removal solutions, advanced technologies for micro-satellites and Earth Observation (EO) modern instruments.
