UKSA (United Kingdom Space Agency) Scholarship

SGAC has partnered with the UK Space Agency to bring 1 student or young professional with UK Nationality or who is a UK Resident to attend the SGFF2021 (August 21–23, 2021) and the first day of the 36th Space Symposium (August 23) in Colorado Springs, USA.

Award:

The total value of the scholarship is $2500, which will cover:

  • SGFF Registration fee
  • Ticket for the first day of the 36th Space Symposium
  • Round trip travel via airfare
  • Accommodation (Private hotel room for four nights. Check in: 8/20; Check out: 8/24)
  • Food
  • Local transportation

How to Apply:

To apply, you will need to answer the following two questions:

  1. How would you like to use your knowledge to contribute to the UK space industry?
  2. Where do you see the UK leading the global space industry in the next 5-10 years?

SGAC4STE(A)M Photography Grant

Are you a professional space enthusiastic photographer or a passionate hobby photographer? Yes? Then this scholarship is for you! SGAC is looking for an Event Photographer to capture the activities during the 9th Space Generation Fusion Forum (August 21 – 23). The successful applicant will be able to attend SGFF2021 and will be granted free access to the 36th Space Symposium (August 23 – 26)  in Colorado Springs, USA.

Purpose/Goal of this Scholarship:

The goal of this scholarship is to offer a space passionate (hobby) photographer to capture the SGFF and giving him/her the chance to attend the 36th Space Symposium  in Colorado Springs, USA. We would like to promote SGFF’s media and art for use during future events – including taking pictures of panels, sponsors, breakout sessions, group photos, networking events; and shooting an event video to be edited and delivered after the event.

Requirements: 

The applicants have to have their own photographer equipment and a portfolio with at least 10 pictures from events. Pictures from another SGAC event can be found here as an example.

Award:

The award will be used to cover the expenses up to a maximum amount of USD 2,000 incurred to attend SGFF and the 36th Space Symposium (round trip travel via airfare, accommodations, visa costs, and the registration fees according to the reimbursement policy). 

How to Apply:

To apply, you will need to prepare the following documents:

  • Your CV (maximum 2 pages)
  • Your portfolio,
  • Short Essay (Max 300 words) on “How you plan to enhance the visibility of the event through your work”

SEDS USA Scholarship

SGAC has partnered with SEDS USA to bring 1 SEDS student to attend the SGFF2021 (August 21–23, 2021) and the first day of the 36th Space Symposium (August 23) in Colorado Springs, USA. The scholarship will support a confirmed delegate to SGFF to take part in this year’s conference as well as to attend the Space Symposium for the first day.

Award:

The total value of the award is $724.32, which is put toward conference registration, a shared hotel stay with another delegate, and a $250.00 stipend for general travel expenses.

Requirements:

  1. The language of all submissions must be in English.
  2. The competition is open to all students in an active SEDS chapter at their university.
  3. SEDS USA Board and Staff are not eligible for this award.

How to Apply:

To apply, you will need to prepare the following documents:

  • A letter of intent of no more than 750 words highlighting your background in the SEDS community and motivation for attending the SGFF 2021, including how you plan to give back to your local chapter and community after your experience at the SGFF 2021.
  • A Resume of up to 2 pages with an emphasis on your involvement with SEDS and the space community.
