SGAC in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA) are pleased to announce Gourav Namta as the winner of the 2021 ESA - SGAC Diversity Scholarship. Through this scholarship, SGAC has partnered with ESA to support the attendance of a student or young professional to the 19th Space Generation Congress (October 21 – 23 2021) and the 72nd International Astronautical Congress (October 25 – 29 2021) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The winner was selected based on the quality of an essay and a short video on the topic of diversity in the space sector.

Back in 2002, I joined a trip to Houston, to attend the World Space Congress (WSC) and visit some tech sites including NASA JSC. During this trip I heard that an organization called Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) was celebrating its first Space Generation Summit in conjunction with the WSC. The name stuck in my mind. I was still very young to join, but this picture of students and young professionals actively contributing to something I was also passionate about inspired me.
